A horrified family returned home to find sickening racist graffiti sprayed across their home in red paint.

The Joacph family, who are practising Roman Catholics, found anti-Muslim hate messages written across their house in the Saltersgill area of Middlesbrough.

Jojimol Joacph, 31, wept today as she told how she and her husband Joyson, 36, are now afraid to leave their home.

The couple, who have two boys Albin, five, and Benet, one, had been to visit family in Cardiff on Friday but received a call on Saturday evening to tell them about the appalling graffiti.

Jojimol, a staff nurse at James Cook University Hospital, said: "I don't want to leave this house.

"My husband works nights and what am I going to do if anything happens here?

"Someone has done this purposefully and knew we had gone out.

"It's racism and we are not even Muslims. But it's attacking Muslims as well and that is not fair.

"We came home from Cardiff straightaway when I got a call from my brother on Saturday night. …
