SARACENS director of rugby Alan Gaffney has hit boiling point over the Andy Farrell farce.

Gaffney sent on Farrell, 31, as a blindside flanker for the last 20 minutes of Sarries' 40-29 defeat against Cardiff Blues in the EDF Energy Cup.

England, who paid half of the [pounds sterling]500,000 to lure the former Great Britain rugby league captain 18 injury-plagued months ago, want him used at centre.

Gaffney said: "Do we feature in this at all or is it just Team England?

Andy has been left out, as have the other party, Saracens.

"I met with England head coach Andy Robinson and we had an affable discussion and at an appropriate time Andy Farrell will get an opportunity at centre. But what annoys me about this is that 12 is a difficult position, it's one of the most technical positions on a rugby pitch.

"The expectations being put on Andy Farrell are beyond belief."
