YULEE - John W. Campbell plans to use his business management experience in his new role as executive director of ARC/Nassau.

The center on U.S. 17 provides community, training and employment opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities. It's funded by federal dollars administered through the state's Medicare program.

Campbell has been at the ARC/Nassau helm for three weeks. One of his first orders of business was to gauge how satisfied parents of the clients were with the services ARC/Nassau provides.

"We really have two sets of customers. We have the people who are developmentally disabled and part of our program, and their families," Campbell said. "I want to understand the perception of the parents as to what we're doing right and what we have to work on."

Campbell conducted a parents meeting July 29 to find out. …
