Mother-of-one Julia Elliott has always prided herself on keeping fit and trim. She exercises every day and when she can't get to the gym, she goes running or walks her two dogs.

In February the 55-year-old decided she wanted her face to match her figure and spent about pounds 2,500 on a facelift ( and has been delighted with the results.

Julia, who is married to Mick and has a 31-year-old son, Mark, said: "I always knew that when I got to a certain age I might have it done.

"I've kept myself very fit and very slim. I've been going to the gym since 1984 and I exercise every day.

"You can control that to a certain extent. Your body still ages, but you can't do anything about your face. All the lotions and potions in the world don't work. They might promise things but they don't give you the result you want. …
