Sunderland winger Toby Hysen says he is still adapting to English football.

The Sweden international has been a big hit since he arrived on Wearside in August, despite not always featuring in Roy Keane's starting line-up.

Hysen has made the jump from Scandinavian football to English football without too much difficulty, but he admits that there is still room for improvement.

He said: "It is still the same game, it is still football, but it is the upped tempo that I need to adjust to.

"I also need to improve my first touch, that is vital for me.

"In Sweden you can have a bad touch and make up for it, but you cannot do that here.

"That is what I have been trying to improve the most and that is my first priority."

Hysen made a terrific debut against West Brom at the end of August, but since Keane took over he found himself having to wait for a place in the starting line-up.

He came on as a sub against Leicester and Ipswich, but did not start under Keane until Sunderland's home game against Sheffield Wednesday a fortnight ago. …
