Football: Friends Reunited Ready to Battle

THERE will be reunions aplenty when Carlisle United travel to Hud-dersfield Town's Galpharm Stadium for this afternoon's League One clash.

Captain Kevin Gray and midfielder Chris Billy will both be returning to their former club, while Carlisle manager Neil McDonald will be taking on former Newcastle United team-mate Peter Jackson.

Centre-back Gray is not expecting too warm a welcome.

"Maybe we will get a good reception to start with but once the game starts you expect a bit of stick," said the 34-year-old, who will be marking former team-mate Andy Booth.

"It's always nice to go back and play at an old club, but you shouldn't treat the game any differently.

"I saw a few managers come and go in my time there, including Jacko (Jackson). He was always good at motivating us and he'll be telling them what to expect from us. And vice-versa - we are prepared and ready for it. I'm looking forward to going back. I really enjoyed my time there, and towards the end we had a great squad and a great atmosphere. …
