Dean Machine Just Shrugs off Defeats

DEAN RICHARDS, once the Sir Alex Ferguson of rugby union, saw his side slump to a seventh successive defeat against shock Premiership leaders Bristol and insisted he isn't concerned... yet.

Richards, who spent 23 years as a player and boss creating the allconquering Leicester Tigers machine, now finds himself in charge of a HARLEQUINS side apparently incapable of resisting an immediate return to Division One.

Though Quins' longsuffering supporters are in panic mode, Richards, 43, said: "If we are still without a win in two or three weeks time then I will start to get concerned."

Richards, who won four titles on the trot as director of rugby at Leicester between 1999 and 2002 along with back-to-back European Cups in 2001 and 2002, now finds himself in charge of rugby's version of Watford. After the latest 33-20 defeat, he insisted: "We haven't had any luck with injuries but the club has been in this position before and the only way forward is to keep battling. …
