It is a must-see for all film fans.

Staff at Newcastle's oldest picture-house, the Tyneside Cinema, have delved into their archives and discovered scores of original movie posters dating back over 20 years.

The valuable film memorabilia will be sold at a sale in the cinema on November 25, to help raise money for the cinema's pounds 6.5m renovation.

The posters were dusted off as staff began packing up the contents of the building in preparation for the cinema's temporary move across the Tyne.

The cinema will operate from the Old Town Hall in Gateshead until the work, which is expected to take just over a year, is completed.

The posters up for grabs in the sale, which opens at 10am, include iconic images from classics such as Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo, and Once Upon a Time in America, starring Robert De Niro.

There are also posters from more recent blockbusters, including Batman Begins, Casino Royale, and Good Night and Good Luck. …
