A WOMAN police officer in the elite antiterrorist branch is suing the Met on the grounds that she was bullied because of her sex.

Pc Anna Gordon, 41, an officer for 20 years, claims she has been victimised by a senior officer over a minor matter.

The Asian constable - who emphasises that race is not part of her complaint claims she was treated like a criminal and interrogated for more than two hours over slight damage to a police van.

But Pc Gordon's case is based on her experiences in recent months which, she says, have left her shocked and humiliated.

The case is a fresh embarrassment for the force coming soon after a Muslim firearms officer said he is suing over alleged racial and religious discrimination. Pc Amjad

Pc Gordon's case is also a blow to attempts by the Met to settle disputes between officers more quickly. The force was criticised in the recent Morris Inquiry report for its policies in dealing with complaints, particularly those involving ethnic minority officers.

The constable claims she was singled out after being accused of causing minor damage to a police van, which she denies.

She was accused of not having permission to take out the van - which she also denies and then threatened with disciplinary and even criminal proceedings. At one point she was hauled in front of her superior officer in his office and grilled for two and half hours. …
