A documentary charting the disappearance of a Teesside student who went missing more than three years ago is set to be aired on the BBC.

Craig Hetherington, a chemical engineering student from Guisborough, was 22 when he went missing in February 2003 following a night out in Middlesbrough with friends.

He was last seen leaving the Cornerhouse nightclub at about 1am. Craig has not been heard from since and his current whereabouts remain unknown.

The series, entitled Runaways, promises to show an insight to the work of the National Missing Persons Helpline (NMPH) as it approaches a new era.

The fourth episode of the eight-part BBC Three series features interviews with Craig's mother Sandra Flintoft and the committed staff at the NMPH charity who are helping and supporting the family in their quest.

Sandra hopes the series, which runs until December 14 every Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC Three, will shed new light on her son's disappearance. …
