Killer mum Danielle Wails has told how she burnt her baby to death.

She never told the police or a court, but now she has revealed the details for the first time to a magazine.

Little Alexander Gallon was killed in a fire at his home on August 28 last year.

Today the baby's dad, Robert Gallon, spoke if his disgust at her account.

Wails ( who was suffering severe post-natal depression when she killed her son ( describes the moment she started the fire.

She says: "Numbly, I laid my little boy very gently down on the sofa and tucked his favourite blanket carefully around him.

"'Goodnight sweetheart' I whispered in his ear. 'I'm sorry.' Like a robot, I turned and picked up a lighter lying next to my packet of cigarettes.

"I lit it and held the flame against one of the chairs. The fabric smoldered and caught fire. I went to the hallway and grabbed my front-door keys so no one could get into the house. No one must come to rescue us, I thought, we have to die.

"I walked back into the lounge. A wave of heat and smoke hit me in the face, it was full of smoke and flames...I could hear him crying. I tried to forced my way back into the room but I was beaten back by the terrible heat and smoke."

Wails then goes on to describe how she phoned 999 and concocted the story that two men had broken into her home, tied her hands behind her back and set fire to the house.

She says she managed to convince herself her story was true. Days later, though, she was arrested and charged with causing her son's death

Alexander's dad Robert Gallon, 22, today told of his hatred for his ex.

He said: "I am so annoyed and upset by the whole thing.

"She's just described how she killed Alexander in an interview. Why couldn't she have done that in court?

"I'm never going to get over what's happened to me, and this just makes everything seem like it was yesterday. I never, ever want to see her again.

"I will never feel sorry for her and I will never forgive her for what she did to Alexander."

In the interview with Love It magazine, Wails says she and Robert had a rocky 10-month relationship before Alexander was born, and that straight after his birth she fell into depression after receiving anonymous abusive text messages and having rows with Robert. …
