WOULD you t a ke your daughter to a Pussycat Dolls concert? That's the same Pussycat Dolls whose video to their lascivious chart-topper Don't Cha was unashamed soft porn and the same Pussycat Dolls whose career mission is, apparently, to teach a whole generation of women the finer arts of poledancing?

The answer, to judge by a Wembley Arena packed to the gunwales with smiling nineyearold girls (and their mothers), was a resounding "yes".

So far, so unsettling. Yet, there was no cause for alarm. A couple of Dolls may have slightly resembled transsexuals; they may have completed their brisk set in varying stages of near-undress, but their show could hardly have been more chaste if it had been choreographed by the Vatican.

Stranger still, there was no sexual content. There was no swearing either, merely a positive message to "stay in school" and Carmit Bachar's confession that she was born with a cleft palate and subsequent assertion that beauty comes from within. …
