Your editorial on the [pounds sterling]5 million Tate Britain needs to purchase Turner's The Blue Rigi sadly misses the point. There are lots of works by the painter already in the gallery's possession but they are almost all oil paintings or sketches - it lacks detailed watercolours. The Blue Rigi is not just another work by Turner, it is arguably his greatest watercolour.

While it is important to have centres of excellence, it is equally important for patients to arrive alive. Doctors talk about a three-hour window to treat stroke victims, but patients are generally found already unconscious and not a moment more should be lost than necessary.

I was amazed to read your editorial advocating more motorbikes in London.
