Liverpool want to wipe away the memory of their most shattering public humiliation of the season when they face Arsenal in the Carling Cup quarter-finals at Anfield tonight.

Early last month Liverpool were embarrassingly out-played in the 3-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium.

Since then much has changed for Liverpool, whose only defeat in eight matches is the Champions League dead rubber against Galatasaray, when they intentionally fielded a weakened side in Istanbul.

They have kept seven clean sheets during that run, climbing to third in the Premiership as a result.

Now Liverpool would dearly like some revenge over the Gunners and a place in the last four of the Carling Cup.

"We know Arsenal are a good team, we lost 3-0 to them in the league there earlier in the season," said manager Rafael Benitez.

"We have not forgotten that and want to win this game ( as we do every one."

Benitez will shuffle his squad and expects Arsenal to do the same ahead of the testing festive programme. …
