A YOUNG woman who clambered on to an ice rink in high heels ended up in intensive care, it has emerged.

Doctors are waiting to see whether Tara Savva will be left with permanent brain or neck injuries.

The 20-year-old climbed on to the closed rink at the end of a night out with friends, but slipped and knocked herself unconscious.

She was rushed to hospital with breathing problems and swelling to her brain. Doctors put her into a chemically induced coma.

The accident happened at 2.45am on Saturday, after she had spent the night at Ikon nightclub in Basildon.

Miss Savva, who works as an administrative assistant, is now conscious and out of intensive care, but is wearing a neck brace and undergoing brain scans.

Her twin sister Rebecca, also from Wickford in Essex, said: "I didn't see the accident, but they wouldn't let me near her when it happened.

She was tipsy at the time. This has ruined my New Year's Eve, but it could have been a lot worse. …
