A victim of a collasped pension scheme has had his case taken direct to one of the Ministers in charge of the issue at Westminster.

Bob Duncan's MP, Stephen Hepburn, has secured a meeting with Pensions Minister James Purnell. Mr Duncan, of Perth Avenue, Jarrow, is one of an estimated 75,000 people who followed bad Government advice on pension schemes and are now paying the price.

He is one of four victims of the fiasco, who lost thousands of pounds following the collapse of company pensions schemes, spearheading a legal challenge to the government on the issue due for a court hearing next month.

Jarrow MP Mr Hepburn has raised the case with Mr Purnell during Work and Pensions Questions in the Commons Chamber.

Bob, 64, has lost out on an annual pension of about pounds 10,000 a year because he paid into the BUSM scheme that has since been wound up.

He was wrongly told the fund he was paying into would be safe and secure. The Government is facing a judicial review at the High Court next year with Bob at the forefront of the bid to force them into compensating pensioners. …
