Toddlers have given the thumbs-up to a new TV programme filmed on Tyneside.

Me too! is being shown on CBeebies twice a day and is the top topic of conversation in nurseries and playgroups.

Parts of the programme, made by the people who brought the hit show Bala-mory to our screens, was filmed in a range of locations in Newcastle and Gateshead, including the Quayside.

It is set in the fictional town of Riverseafingal and Tyneside was chosen by the film crew because of its great architecture and network of bridges.

A spokeswoman for the BBC said: "We are really pleased with how the programme has been received. We hoped it would be a success and it seems to be a hit with youngsters."

The show also has its own interactive game on the CBeebies website, which is proving to be popular with families.

The team behind Balamory formed an independent production company called Tattiemoon to make the 150 episodes of the new show. …
