BRITISH-TRAINED horses could struggle to win a single Classic in 2007, if this year's European Classifications are anything to go by.

Only Peter Chapple-Hyam's Dutch Art, who won the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes, figures among the best half a dozen two-year-olds seen last year, according to the official ratings, released today.

Top-rated on 123 is the Jim Bolger-trained Teofilo, antepost favourite for both the 2,000 Guineas and the Derby, one point ahead of Irish compatriot Holy Roman Emperor who was edged out by Bolger's colt in the Dewhurst Stakes in October.

Dutch Art is next on 121, while Bolger's Finsceal Beo, is champion filly on 119, ahead of Jeremy Noseda's Cherry Hinton-Stakes scorer, Sander Camillo (115).

Aidan O'Brien's George Washington, last year's toprated two-year-old, finishes his career as the joint-best European-trained performer in the World Thoroughbred Racehorse Rankings, rated 127 along with Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe champion Rail Link. …
