'Outstanding Work' Praised in Parliament; Ofsted Highlights Primary School as One of Country's Best

WOODLEA Primary School in Fencehouses is one of the best in the country - and every MP should know.

The school was named in Parliament in December when it was included in Ofsted's list of 2006's outstanding schools.

Woodlea's Ofsted inspection quoted one parent, who said: "I feel this is an excellent school and would recommend it to any parent."

It also said that there was "outstanding work" in reading, mathematics and science - which is reflected in all of its children reaching the National Curriculum target level in its last SATs.

Headteacher Peter Robinson said: "The school is all about the children.

"Our aim is to build up the selfesteem of the children and let them know they can achieve. We do that through a number of procedures.

"If children know they can achieve, that makes them happy to come to school. I want them to be happy here so we are always trying to provide them with stimulating and challenging things to do. …
