New Recruits Boost Tetley

A tea factory in Eaglescliffe is set to recruit 11 managers in a bid help the company double turnover in the next five years.

Tetley has announced plans aimed at meeting its goal of becoming the biggest tea company in the world.

The company is recruiting for key manufacturing positions, including area managers and manufacturing engineers, within the site at Eaglescliffe.

Mark Cooper, plant manager at Tetley, said: "Our strategic decision to implement an organisational change highlights our commitment to the area and will help equip us in our objective as a company to double in size over the next five years."

Tetley is looking to build on an annual sales turnover of pounds 207.6m in 2004/2005, which represented a 7.7% increase year on year.

The newly created roles are aimed at developing a flexible and efficient manufacturing facility, to sustain the future growth of the Tetley brand.

The recruitment drive follows heavy investment in improving facilities at the Eaglescliffe plant, with the company now focused on investing in its workforce to secure its long term aims. …
