Police Briefs; Man Stabbed at Party; Injuries Not Life-Threatening the Victim Told Police He Didn't Know Who Attacked Him

A 23-year-old man was stabbed at a party in the 11600 block of Nickel Lane between 2 and 3 a.m. Jan. 27.

The victim was taken to Shands Jacksonville for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound.

The victim, bleeding from the abdomen, was taken to the hospital by his brother, according to a police report.

A witness told police he saw a man stab the victim in the midsection. Another witness said he saw a man holding a knife get in his truck and flee.

The victim told police he did not know who stabbed him.

The following are crimes and other incidents reported recently on the Westside to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office:

VEHICLE THEFT:

7000 block of Wiley Road - A brown 2003 Chevrolet Tracker was stolen between 9:30 p.m. Jan. 26 and 8 a.m. the next day. There's a Pak's karate and St. Vincent's decal on the back window and a Cub Scout sticker on the bumper.

2400 block of Beaver Street West - A gray 1993 Cadillac DeVille was stolen between 2 and 3 a.m. Sunday. The 39-year-old victim told police the keys were in her jacket pocket before she placed the jacket on a table inside a nightclub. She said the keys could have fallen out of her pocket.

2200 block of Brian Lakes Drive East - A silver 1992 Buick Century was stolen between 12:20 and 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The car was later found abandoned and out of gas in the 1100 block of Normandy Boulevard with its steering column broken and passenger window forced down.

11500 block of Brian Lakes Drive - A white 2002 GMC Denali was stolen at 12:50 a.m. Jan. 27 when the 29-year-old owner started it in his driveway, went inside to get his wife and left it running. The vehicle was found running but abandoned on Interstate 10 near Cassat Avenue.

BURGLARY:

3000 block of Broadway Avenue - A digital camera, leather purse, credit cards, checkbook and driver's license were stolen between 6 and 10 a. …
