Islamic Head Admits Books Call Jews'apes'; but She Refuses to Withdraw Them

THE headmistress of an Islamic school is defying attempts to make her withdraw textbooks which describe Jews as "apes" and Christians as "pigs".
Despite MPs warning that the textbooks incite "racial hatred", the head of the King Fahad Academy in Acton, west London, has refused to remove them.
Her defiance came as the Government announced a scheme to target Islamic extremists in a new strategy to protect young Muslim men from radicalisation.
Town halls will be able to bid for a share of [pounds sterling]5m for trial schemes to help communities tackle the threat.
The school book row erupted after ex-teacher Colin Cook, 57, alleged children as young as five are taught from racist materials at the school.
Quizzed about the claims in a television interview last night, the school's director Dr Sumaya Alyusuf confirmed that the offending books exist.
BBC Newsnight Host Jeremy Paxman asked Dr Alyusuf whether she recognised the books.
