Following is a list of arrests and crimes reported by Beaches area police departments:


-- A 43-year-old man was arrested and charged with domestic assault and criminal mischief after threatening to kill a woman and smashing her car with a stick during a disturbance about 9:41 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Stanley Road.

Police were called after the man was seen chasing the woman across the street while yelling, "I am going to kill you," and then picking up a stick and smashing the passenger quarter panel of a 1992 Ford Probe.

-- A garden hose was used to flood heating and air conditioning company B&G Services at 54 W. Ninth St.

The vandalism happened between Feb. 3 and Sunday morning. The hose had been lodged in the mail slip of a door, causing 2 inches of water to build up on the office and warehouse floor. Several boxes of records were destroyed.

-- A 35-year-old woman was arrested on prostitution charges involving an undercover police officer about 11 p.m. Feb. 3 in the 2300 block of Mayport Road.

The undercover officer approached the woman in an unmarked car, and the woman offered to have intercourse and perform oral sex for $60. Since it was the woman's third arrest for prostitution, the charge was elevated to a felony.


-- A 28-year-old Jacksonville Beach man was arrested Monday morning after an off-duty Jacksonville sheriff's officer saw him firing a handgun in the 800 block of Seventh Avenue South and held him until on-duty police arrived.

The off-duty officer said he heard several people in an SUV yelling at the man in his driveway about 12:20 a.m. He said the SUV drove off and the man went inside his home and came back out with the gun, raised his arm and fired the gun into the air. Police found the 9 mm Glock pistol and two spent shell casings.

-- A 31-year-old homeless woman was arrested on a charge of drinking in public Sunday, two hours after getting out of jail on a previous arrest on the same charge.

Sunday's arrest made the eighth time the woman had been arrested and charged with drinking in public. …
