The cpi rate of inflation dropped back below 3% last month, falling at its fastest rate for four years.

The Consumer Prices Index fell to 2.7% in January from the 3% recorded in December, and the Retail Prices Index , often seen as a more representative gauge of the cost of living as it includes housing costs, also fell in January, falling to 4.2% from 4.4% in December.

Five more cities go BT wireless

BT SAID yesterday it has rolled out its wireless network programme to 12 city centres across the UK ( beating its target one month ahead of schedule.

The company added Sheffield, Portsmouth, Nottingham, Glasgow and Bristol to its existing wi-fi network, hitting its target to have a dozen "wireless cities" by the end of March.

Rescue deal for historic pottery
