Sir Alex Cries Foul as Saha Is Targeted

MANCHESTER UNITED boss Sir Alex Ferguson today claimed Reading kicked Louis Saha off the pitch as his side progressed to the FA Cup quarterfinal, .

They won their fifth-round replay but Ferguson was upset with the treatment meted out to his French striker and the state of the pitch.

Ferguson withdrew Saha 13 minutes from time to protect him.

He said: "I took Saha off because, eventually, he gets one kick too many.

I have never known so many fouls on a player. That only two players were booked was amazing.

"When he came off it was a bad blow. In a cup tie it is not easy to bring on subs and we delayed as long as we could."

Ulises De La Cruz and Andre Bikey were booked for fouls on Saha as Reading almost staged a dramatic fightback.

They went three goals down inside six minutes but scored twice and then hit the bar in the final minutes. …
