Mum's Birthday Pitch for Take That Tickets

Dedicated fans of boy band Take That queued for up to 48 hours to get their hands on the hotly-anticipated tickets which went on sale this morning.

The announcement earlier in the week that the band would be returning to the North-East for two dates in November sent their fans wild with excitement and saw dozens pitch tents outside Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.

Tanya Kane, 25, of Winlaton, Gateshead, and mother Betty, 46, secured first place in the line after Betty arrived at 11pm on Wednesday ( even though it was her birthday.

She was joined by her daughter at 2pm yesterday [Thurs] and the pair settled down for the night in a tent with inflatable bed. Tanya, a shop assistant, said: "I came straight from work, so my mum could go home for a sleep, but she is going to come back later. We both love Take That as you may have guessed.

"My mum has been brilliant. No-one can believe she slept outside overnight on her birthday so we could get tickets. …
