Can't Resist the Temptations? Now You Can Attend Both Shows; Two Temptations Groups Will Play the First Coast on the Same Weekend

Two versions of The Temptations are playing in Northeast Florida next week, one at the International Floral Show in Green Cove Springs, the other at the Florida Theatre.

It is, to borrow a line from one of their songs, a ball of confusion.

The Temptations Revue featuring Dennis Edwards plays Saturday, March 17, at the International Floral Show in Green Cove Springs. The Temptations, with original member Otis Williams, play the Florida Theatre the following night.

The confusion is the result of decades of shifting lineups in The Temptations, who have had more than 20 singers over the past 40 years. The Temptations formed in Detroit in the early 1960s and became a hit-making machine for Motown.

Edwards joined in 1968 and was in and out of the group over the next 20 years, performing on hits such as Psychedelic Shack, Ball of Confusion and Papa Was a Rolling Stone. He eventually formed his own group, The Temptations Revue featuring Dennis Edwards, which is the one playing in Green Cove Springs. …
