Defence Must Show Dutch Courage, Says Milner

James Milner is confident Newcastle United can get to the last eight of the UEFA Cup for the second time in three seasons ( providing they can eradicate defensive errors in Holland next week.

The Toon star began last night's clash with AZ Alkmaar on the bench, but got a slice of the action in the second half on a night when both teams went goal crazy.

At the end of it, Newcastle were the ones who emerged as victors and will take a 4-2 advantage to AZ next week at the DSB Stadium.

Milner said: "They are a great team but we have a two-goal cushion to take over with us next week.

"It would have been better not to concede the penalty, but 4-2 is still a good result for us and if we go there and keep a clean sheet, we are through."

He added: "We started very well and played well in the first half. …
