Would you let a homeless person stay in your home?

YES There's disgraceful ignorance about homelessness. Most homeless Londoners are youngsters staying temporarily with friends and relatives, who can't afford to rent accommodation on their own. It would be far better to house them with other families, than to dump them in hostels which breed problems of dependency.

NO The homeless need professional help - not a landlord who might be wellmeaning but useless, or one who might prey on their vulnerability. The lack of housing is neither here nor there, when we are talking about such a small number of individuals.


YES I see no problem in people being able to take in a lodger; it used to be, after all, quite a normal option for student accommodation. But the financial setup must suit the householder - and Labour has mounted an unmitigated assault on private renting until now.
