Dale on Form as Blyth Pick Up Home Win

In-form Robbie Dale boosted Blyth's play-off hopes as the Spartans extended their unbeaten run to four games, (writes Jeff Bowron).

Dale scored for the third consecutive Conference North match when he fired Blyth ahead on the stroke of half-time.

The UniBond Golden Boot winner struggled to find the net in the first half of the season, but has now scored six goals since the turn of the year.

Chris McCabe grabbed Blyth's second in the 2-0 victory against lowly Worksop Town, as Spartans won their first Conference North game at Croft Park this year.

Manager Harry Dunn said: "Dale was outstanding and he's getting back to his best. We also defended very well and must now make Croft Park a fortress for the rest of the season."

Worksop hit the woodwork twice through Luke Staton and Nathan Jarman before Dale rounded the keeper to put Blyth ahead just before the interval.

Richie Hodgson struck the Tigers' bar after the break, before a touch of fortune saw McCabe wrap up the points. …
