Wilson Backs Fraser to Get into the Swing

Rob Wilson says that former New York Islanders man Iain Fraser will soon be "into the swing of things" as Newcastle Vipers prepare for a second crack at the Elite League play-offs, (writes Lee Ryder).

Wilson and Fraser head to their former club Sheffield Steelers tomorrow night with both hoping to keep up some form as the regular season grinds to a close.

Fraser, who has NHL experience with the New York outfit, Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers, went into the roster last weekend as Wilson's side clinched their play-off place.

Wilson said: "He probably played more than expected at the weekend.

"He was feeling tired after a long journey from the States and a long weekend of three games.

"But I expect by the time the weekend comes he will be into the swing of things a lot more.

"He can give us a bit of balance in the squad and I am sure we will see the benefit of having him here during the play-offs."

Meanwhile, Vipers have agreed a new two-year title sponsorship deal with Newcastle-based computer components distributor, Mobilx. …
