Since the city and the Jaguars seem to be having a little trouble finding a sponsor to replace Alltel, here's a suggestion for a new stadium name that everyone will remember. How about calling it the Gator Bowl?

A senior counselor to U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination this week, refusing to testify before a Senate panel examining the firings of eight U.S. attorneys.

The Washington Post reported that Monica Goodling, who has taken an indefinite leave of absence from her job at the Justice Department, said in a sworn testament given Monday that she will "decline to answer any and all questions" because she faces "a perilous environment in which to testify."

Now if only that other Monica had kept her mouth shut

THERE'S A SIZE GAP AT THE GAP

Some of us only buy a new shirt when the old one is getting embarrassingly frayed. So imagine my surprise when I went to the Gap to find that these days, instead of wearing an XL oxford cloth shirt (like the dozen I've bought over the years) I need a XXL oxford cloth shirt. I may have gained some weight but my arms haven't grown 3 inches. It seems that the Gap changed its size chart. If this is true, it's a stupid thing to do.

In this age of Internet shopping, I would have been mighty mad if I ordered XL shirts that didn't fit.

CLOTHING, TAKE 2

NEED A BELT WITH THOSE PANTS?

While picking on the Gap, here's another thought. They have a new kind of women's apparel called "boyfriend pants."

A couple of thoughts:

-- I've dated women with legs as long as mine, but none with a matching waist.

-- It's the boyfriend's shirt that is the sexy transgender article of clothing that girlfriends steal.

OVERHEARD

SHE BARELY DESERVES A PRESENT

During a restaurant conversation between two men, looking to be in their late 20s, one was complaining about his girlfriend who thought she deserved a "birthday week."

"All the presidents get just one day. Abraham Lincoln doesn't even get his own day. …
