A teesside class were treated to a French lesson with a difference when a youngster from the Cameroon took on the role of teacher.

Jonathan Lobe, who was celebrating his 13th birthday, led the lesson in his native French.

He was visiting King's Manor School in Acklam, along with teachers from Cameroon and Ethiopia, as part of the British Council's Connecting Classroom project.

King's Manor, Laurence Jackson in Guisborough and Brierton School in Hartlepool have formed a partnership with schools in Cameroon and Ethiopia. In November it is planned staff and students from Teesside will visit Africa.

Jonathan said: "I enjoyed teaching - it was fabulous, I had a lovely time. It is a very nice school and the teachers are good, it's different from my school but my school is also nice."

The visitors have gone to Hartlepool Marina, St Mary's Cathedral, and the Riverside Stadium.
