Darlington were today still counting the cost of encounters with two tough Hartlepool sides.

Rory Prendergast is the latest player to suffer injury at the hands of Pools.

The winger has a badly bruised shoulder after being on the receiving end of a poor challenge from Mark Tinkler, which earned the Pools midfielder a booking, in the reserve game this week.

When the side met in League 2 action last month, Quakers lost skipper Clark Keltie and defender Tim Ryan to injuries which may keep them out for the rest of the season.

The result is that Darlington travelled with a patched up squad for tomorrow's game at Chester City.

Prendergast, who was relieved that an X-ray ruled out a break, is hoping to play, but may have to wait until Monday's home game with Lincoln, as Quakers look for two wins to keep their play-off hopes alive.
