Legal disputes and slow growth have pushed car rental firm Accident Exchange to post its second profit warning this year.

The West Midlands firm said pre-tax profits would be around pounds 18m ( pounds 5m lower than the pounds 23m expected for the year to April 30 ( prompting its shares to fall by more than 40%.

Noel has a soft landing

FORMER joint boss of Airbus parent firm EADS Noel Forgeard got a severance package of more than pounds 5.8m.

Mr Forgeard, who quit last year amid delays for the A380 and a share scandal, received severance pay of pounds 4.1m, more than two years' salary and he will get pounds 1.6m more over the next two years not to join a rival firm.

Gucci owner targets Puma

FRENCH retailer and owner of the Gucci brand PPR has bought a 27% stake in German sporting goods company Puma, clearing the way for a full takeover.

The deal, which had boosted Puma's shares at the end of last week, values Puma at e5.3bn (pounds 3.6bn).
