Last week all of the MAC staff who work within the same department as myself, as well as the senior retail and operations managers and the brand managers from all European countries, The Middle East and South Africa met in Marbella for our quarterly meeting.

These meetings are called TTT ( Train the Trainer. Everybody looks forward to these meetings as we get vital information relating to our jobs, see up-and-coming collections, Viva Glam updates (see www.macaidsfund.org)

Among all the meetings we had a fantastic master class by two MAC Directors of Make up Artistry using products from up-and-coming collections.

The collections up for the summer are beautiful. As a senior artist (one of the global MAC Pro Team) we've had these products for months using them in studios and on shows mad celebs, actors etc, but although we are completely spoilt with products as senior artists, I never take for granted receiving the make up, or stop getting excited by the colours, textures and influences behind each collection. And on that subject, some of my personal favourites Glam Gams are now on counter! This name has been given to a collection of easily applied body make up called Sundressing. Providing sheer to low coverage it doesn't look like make up AND is water resistant! Yeah! Fantastic for applying a last minute tanned look that is instant, and another plus-it has zero scent. I must warn you, this is popular and so I would go now and stock yourself up!

Q. I'm a bit of a novice with lipstick but I think I could get away with the nudes this season. How do I apply them to last?

A. The beauty with nude lips is that they are much easier to apply than full on colours such as red! So, if you don't apply with absolute perfection, it's not quite so apparent.

Good quality lipstick should stay on the lips and last well anyway, but of course there are always little tricks and tips to use to your advantage. I would suggest for extra lasting quality you use a primer and lip liner along side your lipstick. Just like applying make up to any other part of the face, prepping the skin correctly first will give you the best results, finish and lasting ability. …
