Resurgent Dallaglio Has a Change of Heart; in Brief

Article excerpt

LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO has confirmed he will carry on playing next season, just two

weeks after he considered quitting the game, writes Chris Jones.

The 34-year-old London Wasps skipper now admits he had "got out of the bed on the wrong side" when he first raised the subject of retirement.

Following an improvement in his form and discussions with the Wasps coaching staff he has now decided to play on, a major boost for the club ahead of Sunday's Heineken Cup semi-final with Northampton.

Dallaglio said: "I'm playing better now and perhaps I got out of the bed the wrong side when I said those comments but I won't be retiring.

"Even if I don't go with England to the World Cup this club will be supplying back-row players to the Test squad and there will be a lot of rugby to be played in the Premiership.

"I had a chat with the coaches and can't imagine not playing rugby at this time of year."
