Brave Megan marks her sixth birthday but loses her pet

Birthday girl Megan Yates was left heartbroken when her puppy went missing on her big day.

The little girl ( who captured the hearts of Teessiders when she cheated death in a devastating house fire which killed her mum, auntie and uncle ( turned six on Saturday.

Her gran Rose Yates hired a bouncy castle and had all Megan's friends and family over to celebrate.

But joy turned to despair when Megan's puppy Rosie got into the back garden of their Scotton Court home in Thorntree and escaped through the fence.

The family have not seen the 10-month-old Jack Russell since.

Rose said: "Megan is pining for her. When she wakes up on the morning the first thing she asks is if Rosie has come back.

"We bought her for Megan and she has loved her since the day we brought her home.

"We've been out looking but we've not seen her. We just want to get her back home for Megan. …
