Rare Mortgage Offer Is Truly Life-Affirming

A mortgage company has come up with an innovative way to raise money for The Journal 175 St Oswald's Appeal.

Frontstep.co.uk, [correct] of Hexham in Northumberland, arranges mortgages and remortgages and is planning to donate pounds 25 to the charity for every deal it completes.

The company, founded by Glenn Morrill and Paul Davies, is aiming for 175 completed mortgages and has promised an additional donation of pounds 100 for every seventh deal completed.

If they reach their target, this will raise pounds 6,875 for The Journal's appeal.

Glenn, who previously worked as a senior manager for Northern Rock, launched Frontstep.co.uk earlier this year with former Royal Bank of Scotland employee Paul.

The pair set up Frontstep.co.uk with the aim of being a consumer champion and Glenn said this included working closely with charities, both regionally and nationally.

He said: "One of our key objectives is to help good causes, especially those in the North-East, and we can think of none more worthy than St Oswald's Hospice. …
