CHAMPIONS Redcar Unionists A travelled to New Marske Inst and won 4-2.

Richard Sivills took on Richard Beckham in the first match and drew 1-1. Sivills made breaks of 31 & 39, while Beckham made 52 & 33. Gary Forrest and Barry Chapman shared the next two frames 66-45 & 43-57. Paul Robinson then took the last two frames for the Unionists against Keith Corner (64-35 & 54-45) winning the match 4-2.

Redcar Lakes A hosted relegation-haunted Guisborough A, winning 4-2 to send the visitors down.

Brian Norris and Steve Rutter shared the first two frames 51-54 & 56-52. Gary Beckett and Mike King shared the next two frames 50-58 & 58-49. Steve Quain won the last two frames for the Lakes (55-42 & 89-22) against Col Buckton.

Saltburn Cons A drew 3-3 with Ennis Sq B. Steve Buckton made a 30 break against Richard Barker but this wasn't enough to stop him winning 69-48 & 61-14.

Ste Binns and Stevie Sullivan drew 1-1.

Ennis Sq A were beaten 4-2 at home to Guisborough TA, which condemns them to relegation. Derek Leadbitter lost two frames to Mike Collantine. Kev Moon drew 1-1 with Alan Bringloe. A Lloyd and Gav Hubbard also drew 1-1.

Marske A hosted Guisborough Quoit Club and battled out a 3-3 draw. Paul Thompson won two frames against Andrew Shelley. Andrew Fairley won two back for Marske, beating Col Savage, while Andy Mudd and Chris Purdy shared the last two frames of the night.

Staithes Athletic travelled to Redcar Cons B, who needed two frames to avoid the drop, but lost 5-1. Tony Cook beat Dave Brown 2-0, winning 57-13 & 59-11. John Bracchi drew 1-1 with Geoff Beattie (36-59 & 53-41).
