FOUR years ago Lily Donaldson was a schoolgirl who lived with her parents in Kentish Town and liked shopping with friends at Camden Market.

Today she has been anointed one of the world's leading young models. American Vogue, arguably the most influential style magazine, features the 20-year-old among its choice of the 10 most promising fashion stars.

The 5ft 10in, blue-eyed blonde appears with other supermodels-in-waiting on the cover of this month's magazine.

Only two of the girls featured are British

the other is Lancashire-born Agyness Deyn

the accolade confirms Donaldson as the natural successor to Kate Moss's throne.

Once described by Tatler as having all the poise of Moss but none of the grunge, Donaldson was spotted by a scout from the agency Select in 2003 at 16 while shopping in Camden.
