MARTIN JOL fears fixture congestion could cost his side a UEFA Cup place next season as he prepares to take charge of his 100th Premiership game as Tottenham manager.

Spurs play three gamesover six days starting at Charlton on Monday followed by home matches with Blackburn on Thursday and Manchester City three days later.

Jol wanted to get the fixtures changed but was told it wasn't possible. He said: "I asked the club, but the problem was Monday is a television game and Thursday against Blackburn was squeezed in because it was a game in hand and the Premier League said there would be no other switch.

"Most other teams around us have to play one match, we've got to play three so it's awkward." Like Jol, Charlton boss Alan Pardew also wishes the game was being played this weekend.

He said: "If we beat Spurs we have a great chance [of staying up]. …
