ZAXBY'S OPENING TWO MORE AREA LOCATIONS

Chicken chain Zaxby's will open two Jacksonville-area locations Monday, according to a statement released by the company. One will be located on Beach Boulevard, east of Hodges Boulevard, while the other will be Macclenny's first Zaxby's location, according to the statement. The store openings bring the First Coast Zaxby's tally to 10 stores, according to the statement. The Georgia-based chain operates more than 375 restaurants in 10 states.

H.C. SCHAU & SON TO OPEN FOOD PROCESSING CENTER

H.C. Schau & Son Inc., a Woodridge, Ill.-based food wholesale manufacturer, plans to open a food processing plant at the intersection of West 30th Street and Spring Road on the Northside.

The plant will initially employ about 100 but grow to 200 in a couple years, said Elaine Schneider, accounting coordinator for the company.

H.C. Schau sister-company Coffey Schau Properties LLC bought the 122,432-square-foot facility that will house the plant earlier this month from West Oaks Club LLC for $3.4 million. Tyler Saldutti of NAI Realvest represented West Oaks in the sale.

Schneider said that H.C. Schau will likely invest about $2 million to prepare the plant.

FED KEEPS INTEREST RATES THE SAME FOR NOW

The wait goes on for borrowers looking for some interest rate relief.

The Federal Reserve on Wednesday held rates steady and many economists believe rates could stay put for most -- if not all -- of this year.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and his central bank colleagues left an important interest rate unchanged at 5.25 percent, where it has stood for nearly a year.

The Fed's decision means that commercial banks' prime interest rate -- for certain credit cards, home equity lines of credit and other loans -- stays at 8. …
