Woody tipped for Einstein role in Doctor Who special WOODY ALLEN is being lined up for a role in the Doctor Who Christmas special.

The actor and director, 71, has been approached by the shows producers to play Albert Einstein,according to reports. Oscar winner Allen, pictured, first appeared on US television in 1950 and writes and directs all his films. The New Yorker, who made Seventies classics Manhattan and Annie Hall, has shot his last two movies in Britain.

House sale packs distort market

A GROWING number of house sellers are putting their homes on the market now to avoid the need to provide a Home Information Pack when they come in on 1 June, a report from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors says today. The number of homes on surveyors books rose in April after the longest decline in seven years, while buyer inquiries declined for the fifth consecutive month.

Fines for hiring illegal migrants

EMPLOYERS who knowingly hire illegal migrants will face unlimited fines and a possible two-year jail term under plans set out by the Government today. In a consultation document, immigration minister Liam Byrne said that the new civil penalties were designed to combat rogue firms that deliberately use illegal workers to cut costs. Albert Memorial death probed

A POLICE watchdog is appealing for witnesses after a man died in a fall from the Albert Memorial. The Independent Police Complaints Commission is investigating the death of Scott Wilson, 40, after he climbed naked over railings and scaled the memorial in Kensington Gardens. …
