2.25 EDEN ROCK still has something to prove having gone two years since his last win, but Pat Eddery's stable is going a lot better now than it was last season and the six-year-old gelding gets its easiest opportunity for a long time here. Fifth in a hot event at Newbury and again in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot last season, he has the ability to win this contest if everything goes to plan. The booking of jockey Jimmy Fortune is another positive.

3.00 YOSSI's second to Spice Route at Haydock last time out was franked when his conqueror bolted up at York this week and off a 4lb higher mark he looks fairly treated here. The step up to a mile and a half has clearly been a major factor in improvement of Mark Tompkins's colt, but bits of his two-year-old form also look quite strong now and his proven fitness can tip the balance in his favour ahead of Philanthropy.

3.35 Eliminated at the final declaration stage for last week's Chester Cup, RAUCOUS would have been an interesting contender in that event, but switched to this alternative target Tom Tate's runner can gain compensation. …
