THE results of the FE+ awards 2007 were revealed at a glittering awards ceremony and gala dinner held for around 700 guests at Tall Trees, Yarm in March.

An evening full of entertainment, which not only recognised the achievements of learners in the Tees Valley but also saw guests entertained by magician Paul Lytton and acrobats Heir of Insanity before the event closing with leading impressionist Kevin Connelly.

The FE+ awards celebrates the achievements of many learners who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to learning and gives the opportunity to showcase their amazing talent and this year's high profile event was no different.

Nominees for the awards are selected from 60,000 learners across the Tees Valley. It should be noted that to be nominated is itself a fantastic achievement and all nominees and winners should be very proud of what they have achieved.

The awards itself would not be possible without the support of business and industry partners who played their part in sponsoring the event as well as those who sponsored the individual category awards.

The winners of the awards were selected by an independent panel of judges comprising of representatives from FE+ and the main sponsors.

Creative Arts: Rebecca Beattie - Middlesbrough College

Design & Media: Nick Langley - Cleveland College of Art & Design

Engineering: Caroline Ellerton - Darlington College

Hair & Beauty: Christine Scott - Redcar & Cleveland College

Health & Social Care: Sarah Jane George - Redcar & Cleveland College

Hospitality & Catering: Tricia Ryan - Darlington College

Leisure, Sport, Travel & Tourism: David Daniell - Middlesbrough College

Special Award: Adam Hodkinson - Cleveland College of Art & Design
