Dave woods reckons his Gateshead Thunder players owe team-mate Neil Thorman a big performance tomorrow.

Head coach Woods was furious with last week's 20-28 capitulation at the hands of London Skolars, but singled out full-back Thorman for praise in what was ultimately a dire showing.

And with a testing trip to Barrow Raiders this weekend, Woods is determined his troops will not let Thorman bear the brunt of the work again.

Woods said: "They owe him a game, that's true ( he kept returning the ball 30 or 40 yards every time he touched it last week.

"He in no way deserved to be on the losing side and that is something we spoke about on Wednesday.

"Some of the players apologised to me on Monday for their performance, and that was a good thing because it shows they are thinking about it and mulling it all over.

"That's exactly what we need, but first they have got to repay Neil for all his hard work.

"Especially against London, with his family and playing against his brother, the last thing he deserved was to lose. …
