CAMP CHOWENWAW TO BE DEDICATED

The public dedication of Camp Chowenwaw will be held June 30.

The 9 a.m. ceremony will commemorate Clay County's preservation of Camp Chowenwaw for present and future generations. Rain or shine, the ceremony will be held near the park's main entrance off U.S. 17 and Ball Road, just north of Green Cove Springs. Parking is available near the entrance.

Following the ceremony, the public is invited to explore the 150-acre park, walk the nature trails and see the variety of campsites and cabins available for individuals and groups. For more information, call the camp office at 529-8058.

GIRL SCOUTS OFFERS PASSAGES WORKSHOP

The Girl Scouts of Gateway Council Inc. is sponsoring Passages, a 4-day workshop for seventh-grade girls entering junior high in Clay County.

Girls will learn their way around their campus, learn about time management, study skills and challenges they will face in junior high. The cost is $35. Participants don't have to be Girl Scouts. …
