BLACK CREEK CUB SCOUTS TO HOLD REGISTRATION MEETINGS

The Black Creek District of the Boy Scouts of America is recruiting boys in grades 1-5 for the Cub Scouts.

Registration meetings will be held:

7 p.m. Aug. 30: Annunciation Catholic School and at the following Clay County public elementary schools: Argyle, Clay Hill, Coppergate, Doctors Inlet, Fleming Island, Grove Park, Lake Asbury, Middleburg, Orange Park, Paterson, Rideout, Ridgeview, S. Bryan Jennings, Thunderbolt, Tynes, W.E. Cherry and Wilkinson.

7 p.m. Sept. 4: Charles E. Bennett, Lakeside, Oakleaf, Orange Park Christian Academy

7 p.m. Sept. 6: Montclair, St. Johns Country Day and Swimming Pen Creek.

HEALTH CAREER CORE REGISTRATION AT SJRCC

St. Johns River Community College is holding registration through Monday for its Health Career Core class. This is a pre-requisite course for the Phlebotomy program to be offered in October. Registration is 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. at any SJRCC campus, including Orange Park.

Health Career Core classes will be held at the Palatka campus from Aug. 27 to Oct. 17 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have a completed SJRCC application on file prior to registration. Course fees will be $165.30, plus a $28 lab fee for in-state students.

GREEN COVE SPRINGS

TEEN SUMMIT SET FOR SEPT. 15

The Green Cove Springs Police Dept. will hold the 2nd annual Teen Summit on Sept. 15 at Green Cove Springs Junior High School.

The event is free and intended for youth ages 11 to 17. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The keynote speakers will be Debra and Bradley Alumbaugh of Michael's Message, Inc. - a drug-awareness program. …
