Revellers Tell of Surprise as United Boss Gets Drinks in Clubbers' Night with Mr Toon

CLUBBERS have told of their big night out with billionaire Toon boss Mike Ashley.

The club tycoon stunned revellers when he breezed into Blu Bambu nightclub in the Bigg Market along with Magpies chairman Chris Mort.

The Chronicle reveald on Friday how Mr Ashley had first been stopped on the door by bouncers for wearing a Toon shirt - which is against the club's strict dress code policy.

But assistant manager Mark Johnson recognised the 25th richest man in Britain and made an exception.

Clubber Andrew Nelson, 20, a sales assistant from Throckley, and pals were in the club when the two moguls approached them.

Andrew said: "We chatted with them both. They were both nice, down to earth, blokes and you could tell they loved the atmosphere in Newcastle.

"They enjoyed talking to the people in the club and the fans, and didn't mind having pictures taken or chatting.

They were a great couple of guys."
